MOUNTAINGNOME FORUMS:
Folks, in the "SIDEBAR" you'll find the "NEWBORN FORUM" and "OUTDOOR FORUM". We want you to utilize these forums to their fullest. It's a perfect place for all outdoorsmen and gals to exchange ideas and ask questions on any subject you want!! So, go and they will answer........

AOL's KINDERGARTEN BROWSER!!:
America On Line
The reason we call it the Kindergarten Browser, is because it's usefulness, graphics and layout is so poor!! Take a good look at any version of Netscape, IE Explorer or some of the other browsers out there, and compare. You are extremely limited on functions and management, especially in the e-mail and address book areas! The toolbar, status bar and desktop are a complete joke. It almost seems as if AOL is saying "GEE, you're too stupid to handle a fully functional browser, so we'll keep it somple for ya!".
NOTE: You really don't have to use AOL's browser! If you want total control, after you connect to AOL, minimize their browser and just open~NETSCAPE-IE EXPLORER-or any of your favorite browsers and your all set. You can even set up your AOL e-mail to work in them!!! Oh What A JOY!!

Indian Lore & Tradition: Indian Tribes
Click for Boncarbo, Colorado Forecast The Alabama-Coushatta Indians
These are two tribes that combined to live together, the Alabama tribe and the Coushatta tribe. Neither tribe is originally from Texas. Both are from the Southeast -- Alabama, Mississippi and Georgia. The Alabama are one tribe from Alabama and the Coushatta are another. Both were forced to move to Texas. The Alabama are a subtribe of the Creek Indian tribe, so anything you can find on the Creeks will be useful to you. The Creeks were, and still are, a large and i mportant tribe. The Creek tribe was formed from the survivors of the many moundbuilding tribes who lived in the Southeast United States. The Creek Indians are one of the five "civilized tribes" from the Southeast who now live in Oklahoma.

The reason firehouses have circular stairways is from the days when the engines were pulled by horses. The horses were stabled on the ground floor and figured out how to walk up straight staircases.

Talk About Dumb.... WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM OUR FRIENDS:
Police in Oakland, California spent two hours attempting to subdue a gunman who had barricaded himself inside his home. After firing ten tear gas canisters, officers discovered that the man was standing beside them in the police line, shouting "Please come out and give yourself up."

Outdoor Tip: Picking Colors For Muddy/Stained Water
Someone turned off the lights in your room and now you are in complete darkness! What do you do? Most of us find something familiar -- like a wall or chair -- that we can touch so we can reorient ourselves. And fish do the same thing, too! In muddy or stained water, fish seek out something to be up against in order to give them a sense of direction. My color choices for lures in these conditions are black and blue, chartreuse, and red. Until next time: Be Safe ~ Be Happy!!

 GNOMES' NEWS and VIEWS

Article Submitted by: J. Valdez(Coyote) Raton, New Mexico

Gun ownership vs. doctors:
Perspective: GUNS vs MDs This is rather interesting.....
Number of gun owners in the U.S. ...80,000,000
Number of accidental gun deaths per year (all age groups).....1,500
Accidental deaths per gun owner. ....0.0000188
(U.S. Dept. of Health & Human Services)

Number of physicians in theU.S. ......700,000
Number of accidental deaths caused by physicians per year (all age groups)....120,000
Accidental deaths per physician ......0.171
(U.S. Dept. of Health & Human Services)

Statistically, Doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.

FACT: Not everyone has a gun, but everyone has at least one doctor.
Please alert your friends to this alarming threat. We must ban doctors before this gets out of hand. (As a public health measure, statistics on lawyers were withheld for fear that the shock could cause people to seek medical aid.)

SORRY ASS DEMOCRATS
Well they're at it again!! Trying to blame GWB for The Clinton Mis-Administrations total screw up!! Fact is: Clinton knew about Binladens involvement in the bombings of the early 1990's and did absolutely nothing about it. Hell, he was to busy with turning the office of the Presidency into a SEX PLAYGROUND for himself and his queer cabinet! Now the DEMOCRATS are trying to use 5000 dead to win their campaigns!! Hell, just offer more money to WELFARE RECIPIENTS - YOU'LL GET YOUR VOTES!! God, what LOW LIFE SCUM the Democratic Party has turned into!
That JACKASS is the perfect symbol for that SORRY ASS PARTY and their leader Tom (asshole) Daschle! It's a real shame that he wasn't in the plane instead of all those wonderful men, women and children who were very loved and will be very missed by all!!

 TIPS FOR WOMEN and BABIES

How to stop birth control :
As tempting as it is to leap immediately from contraception to conception, you may want -- or need -- to wait. It depends on the type of birth control you're using -- some women have been on the Pill for upwards of 20 years. Experts recommend stopping the Pill for a few months before trying to conceive to let your cycles get back to normal. All you need to do with some methods, such as the diaphragm or condoms, is stop using them. Other methods, such as Depo Provera or Norplant, take some time to leave a woman's body. To find out how to boost your chances of becoming pregnant, check out BabyCenter's chart on birth control methods and reversibility.
NOTE: Always Check with and follow the advice of your Physician!
