Valentines Day Tradition:
There are varying opinions as to the origin of Valentine's Day. Some experts state that it originated from St. Valentine, a Roman who was martyred for refusing to give up Christianity. He died on February 14, 269 A.D., the same day that had been devoted VALENTINES DAY FOR HER @ BC CRAFTS to love lotteries. Legend also says that St. Valentine left a farewell note for the jailer's daughter, who had become his friend, and signed it "From Your Valentine". Other aspects of the story say that St. Valentine served as a priest at the temple during the reign of Emperor Claudius. Claudius then had Valentine jailed for defying him. In 496 A.D. Pope Gelasius set aside February 14 to honor St. Valentine.
Gradually, February 14 became the date for exchanging love messages and St. Valentine became the patron saint of lovers. The date was marked by sending poems and simple gifts such as flowers and candy. There was often a social gathering or a ball.
In the United States, Miss Esther Howland is given credit for sending the first valentines. Commercial valentines were introduced in the 1800's and now the date is very commercialised. The town of Loveland, Colorado, does a large post office business around February 14. The spirit of good continues as valentines are sent out with sentimental verses and children exchange valentine cards at school. MORE...........

During World War II, a German U-boat was sunk by a truck. The U-boat in question attacked a convoy in the Atlantic and then rose to see the effect. The merchant ship it sank had material strapped to its deck including a fleet of trucks, one of which was thrown in the air by the explosion, landing on the U-boat and breaking its back.

Buy Today...Great Reading!! Rocky Mountain Christmas: Yuletide Stories of the West
by John H. Monnett
By evening everyone present agreed that the Christmas festivities were "the greatest known to that date" in the entire Taos region and Kit Carson was "chief over it all." For the first time in recent memory, different races and Indian tribes had "ate, drank and smoked together." The last toast of the evening was one pledging "fraternal peace" among the races in the Taos Valley. (From the book) Even under the most extreme conditions our pioneer ancestors kept the festive holiday spirit alive in their hearts and frontier homes. From Lewis and Clark's first Christmas in the Rockies to the generous gift that changed a widow's and her children's lives, this book shares celebrations of the Yuletide season.

NEWS IN REVIEW: Clinton Pardons Executive Buddy Criminals:
Clinton Grants Pardons to 59 People
AP) - President Clinton granted pardons Friday to 59 people, including Dan Rostenkowski, the former chairman of the powerful House Ways and Means Committee felled by a corruption scandal. The White House announced that Clinton also issued a pardon to Archie Schaffer III, an Arkansas chicken company executive ensnared in the corruption investigation of former Agriculture Secretary Mike Espy. More....

  • "I am" is reportedly the shortest sentence in the English language. Could it be that "I do" is the longest sentence?

WASHINGTON (AP) - Clinton Pardons More Than 100 This good ole' boy makes Jimmy Hoffa look like a SAINT! Ole' Slick likes to pardon folks convicted of bank fraud, wire fraud, Savings & Loan fraud, treason, racketeering, tax evasion, sex charges.... " damn Slick, ya gonna open the cells for all your low life buddies?". In the article, take notice of how McDougals husband, who agreed to testify against Clinton in the Whitewater Investigation, suddenly died in prison! My guess is this, if she would have agreed to testify against Slick Willy, she wouldn't be here today either!!

Civil Rights Leader Jackson Admits to Affair
Jesse "The Hypocrit" Jackson: Umm mmm mmm!!! My oh my!! Well, well....condemned, condemned and condemned, the honorable George Walker Bush, and look what the hell fell out of his own closet of CONDEMNATION.....A TRUE DEMOCRAT...."don't do as I do, do as I tell you to do"! It amazes me how he begs forgiveness, and condemned and damned for 2 months every one associated with the Bush campaign. Hell, his own orginazation is nothing more than a front for extortion, threatening any business that does not concede to his so-called demands of equality! How many of you po' folk can afford to pay $3000/month for child support, huh?? Now ya'll jus' keep on a sendin' that money, ya hear?! Ha ha ha ha...funny! He could care less about the poor. Another hypocrit just like the dishonarable Senator from Massachusetts, Ted "The Chappaquitic Kid" Kennedy. Now there's a man who has alot of room to criticize and condemn John Ashcroft, huh? You ever wonder how many more skeletons are in his closet? Ashcroft never drove off a bridge and killed a young girl, did he TED?! He wasn't having an affair either, was he TED?! TRUE DEMOCRATS....Dig up the dead on voting day, and criminals who sit in judgement! To all you folks who support these dishonorable and immoral snakes, you have to ask yourself, why aren't Republicans flocked with these kinds of allegations? They're using you to get your votes...are you blind?! Hell all welfare is, is a means for the Democrats to get the leeches on society to vote for thaem! And by the way, since you think the Democrats are for the working man(yeah right), how many poor Democrats have you ever seen in Congress, etc.?! Get your heads out of you ass and start to think on your own, instead of being lead around by some fool, just because you think your gonna get some free money!

Early contractions -- what to do:
Many women have early contractions, which can sometimes be caused by dehydration. If you're having early or irregular contractions, slow down and drink two or more glasses of water or juice. It's also a good idea to empty your bladder. Lie down on your left side to relieve some of the pressure on your uterus. If you're noticing a pattern to your contractions -- you're having them at regular intervals or you're having more than four to six an hour -- you should be evaluated by your physician or midwife. Find more information in BabyCenter's list of common problems and solutions.
NOTE: Always Check with and follow the advice of your Physician!

Newborns and travel:
Ideally, your baby should be at least 3 months old before she flies. By then, her immune system should be strong enough to resist infection, she'll have gained some weight, and you'll both be comfortable with breast- or bottle-feeding. Another reason to wait: Problems such as strep infections may not show up until her second or third month, so it's a good idea to postpone travel during that window of time.
NOTE! Always check with and follow the advice of your physician!!
