*  Festive ~ Oktober  *
You can BUY this beautiful Holiday center piece@ BC CRAFTS Oktoberfest:
Oktoberfest began on October 12, 1810 in celebration of the marriage between Bavarian Crown Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese of Sax-Hildburghausen. Now in 2000 this festive occasion is honored at ski resorts in the New World with German inspired foods, entertainment, and, of course, steins of beer.
This fall, head to the mountains with your lederhosen to soak up the festivities and turning of the leaves.

Oktoberfest:La Veta, Colorado
Well, we're off to the festivities in La Veta. Bobby and I were real anxious to head out! It was a cold day, with temperatures hovering around 32°! When we arrived, the threat of snow was showing, but it was a lively bunch of folks that we encountered. Everyone was having a festive time, despite the cold weather. The air was thick with the smells of German Food! The Bratwurst was delicious and we had our share. The hot apple cider, did a great job of warming the innerds! The many craft shops were fabulous, sporting all types of artistry and craftwork. I guess the threat of snow, and the cold temps scared off some of the participants of the car show, But the cars that did show up were GREAT! Check out the pics in our Klassic Kar section. It was apparent that the festivities were enjoyed by young and old alike! Folks, Laveta, Colorado is a beautiful, quaint little town with the friendliest of folks. Visit and you'll be back for more hospitality. We'll be goin' back again next year. We closed the day with a great dinner at a nice quiet diner in Trinidad, Colorado(Trinidad Diner). Great food~Great Price~Great Folks! What a great sighting to end the day~a Hawk in the treetop by the cabin!
Next issue we'll bring ya some huntin' FUN!! And I'm Out Da Door!!

Talk About Dumb.... Indiana Co. PA

He said that he had to get out of the there because he was drunk and had just crashed his car. The driver of the fully marked State Patrol car drove to the scene of the accident. After the investigation, the man was arrested for DUI and also possession of marijuana.

Survival Tip:Purification Tablets:
A single drop of impure water can have a devastating effect on the human body, especially when the hope of medical attention is days or even weeks away. For this reason the utmost caution must be taken when using any type of water purification tablets. Be sure to read, understand, and follow the instructions given with each set of purifiers.
TIP - To ensure that every drop of water has been exposed to the purifying properties of the tablets; the water container's lid should be loosened to allow the water to spill out over the threads, or exit point of the water container. Another caution to make note of is that some individuals can have a severe allergic reaction to iodine, a leading ingredient in most purification tablets. All Tablets have an expiration date! Over time these tablets will lose their effectiveness, so be careful and replace them when needed. Until next time: Be Safe ~ Be Happy!!

FREEDOM EXPRESS: TaxedLess.com
Dear Taxpayer,
I'm mad - Every time I see the letters IRS or 1040... I get outraged for the vast number of people that could legally and ethically opt "OUT of the System". I know you've heard of such people before - but you have probably heard just the stories the IRS wants you to hear.
Don't trust me, yet. Visit my website today:http://www.taxedless.com, for detailed information on this "Voluntary Tax" and investigate the facts for yourself.

 BABYGNOMES DAYKARE CENTER

Childbirth Solutions
Site features articles dealing with preconception, pregnancy, birth, post partum, and being a father. Site also has message boards. . .

How do I know my pregnancy is normal?:
It's quite common for a first-time mother to worry about the well being of her baby. You'll find that this anxiety will subside around the 20th week or so of pregnancy, when you'll start feeling the baby move around. Meanwhile, don't worry: The risk of miscarriage after 10 weeks when the heartbeat has been seen or heard is less than 2 percent. Meanwhile, the symptoms of pregnancy in the early months -- nausea, breast tenderness, increasing weight and abdominal size -- are all good signs. If you have any uterine cramping or bleeding, however, call your healthcare provider immediately.
NOTE: Always Check with and follow the advice of your Physician!

Fighting in front of your child:
There is a popular but mistaken notion that "real life" unpleasantness will strengthen the character of the young. In reality, their developmental immaturity prevents young children from defending themselves against the emotional pain they feel when things go wrong. So parental arguments and other painful events leave young children more -- rather than less -- vulnerable to stress.

On the other hand, if you shield your child from distressing experiences in general, and especially from the pain of witnessing you and your partner fighting, over time he will retain an abiding optimism about his world and his ability to have the harmony and love that he wants and needs. As he grows older, this positive outlook will give him the strength and resilience to respond effectively to the challenges of everyday life.
NOTE! Always check with and follow the advice of your physician!!

Try taking these fruity bars to a potluck dinner or other gathering--they're guaranteed to be a hit. Makes 2-1/2 dozen.
  • 2 cups flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 8-3/4-ounce can crushed pineapple, undrained
  • 2 beaten egg yolks
  • 1 cup maraschino cherries, chopped
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine flour, brown sugar, and salt; cut in butter with a pastry blender or two knives, until crumbly. Set aside 1 cup crumb mixture; press remaining mixture onto bottom of 13-inch by 9-inch baking pan. Bake 15 minutes. Cool slightly while preparing topping.

In a saucepan, combine sugar and cornstarch. Stir in pineapple and egg yolks. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture thickens and bubbles. Remove from heat; stir in cherries.

Spread evenly over baked crust. Sprinkle with reserved crumb mixture. Bake 30 minutes. Cool before cutting into bars.
